I was in Vietnam in 68, and I dug this movie...

...for some of its campy takes on situations like the neurotic sergeant at Khe Sanh and the kinky colonel who pops a big surprise in a helicopter.
I was with the Marines in the field and we tend dislike CID types and we often suspected new guys of being planted in our platoon to spy on us for CID.

I liked both Wilem Dafoe and Gregory Hines as CID agents. I thought Off Limits could have been spun into a TV series that would have rivaled China Beach in terms of ratings. I would recommend this movie as sort of sit-around-with-the-fellas over drinks type fare. Vietnam veterans might enjoy this story, if for nothing else the whacky said moments at Khe Sanh and in the chopper.
