How did Toto turn white when he got old?
Was it the same thing that happened to Michael Jackson?

shareConsider it this way —
When we are children most of us are encouraged to spend a lot of time outdoors. Therefore, we tended to retain tanned skin for more than we do as adults more likely to ourselves working indoors. Especially if one is an office worker in a city filled with tall, sun-blocking buildings.
Toto has grown up to be a film-maker and likely doesn’t frolic in the outdoors as often as he did back in his small hometown.

Some people get paler when they get older. It's perfectly normal.
Regardless, I thought the actor they got to play the old Toto looked EXACTLY like an older version of the boy. While I thought the actor who played the teenage Toto did a good job, he looked nothing like the boy.
Wow. Got the exact same notion. I though the resemblance in the eyes was uncanny.
shareI had a really difficult time with that too. I couldn't believe for a second that this dark Latino-looking Italian grew up to be a milquetoast-looking Caucasian with light eyes. A significant casting flaw, I'd say.
shareThe actor who played an adult Toto does not have light eyes.
I thought that he looked remarkably like the little boy version of Toto. Sure, the melanin level was a little "off" but I didn't think it was significant enough to be a "flaw." They both looked "Mediterranean" to me.
If you are looking at flaws per se, there were a lot more significant ones than that.
An Italian that grows up to be French! Must have been useful for marketing purposes to use Perrin.
shareNot the same guy.
Identify theft. The clues are there if you watch closely enough...
Its a different actor, silly.
