Hugh Grant - Mircea Eliade

Wow, I couldn't believe that it was a movie made after "Maitreyi" by Mircea Eliade, a Romanian philosopher starring Hugh Grant!

yeah, i was stunned as well!!! Eliade is one of my fav writers, and Hugh one of my fav actors, so... ^_^ The director could have done better though. He didn't do justice to such a painful romance...

I haven't watched the movie but I've read the original book in Bengali written by Maitreyee Devi (called -- Na Hanyate, which is a Sanskrit phrase referring to the indestructibility of the soul).

Did you like the movie? How was it? Anything specific that's good or bad about it?

that's not the original book- the original book is Maitreyi by Mircea Eliade. Maitreyee Devi's book is her "answer" to Eliade's novel.

In Turin Turambar we trust.

The movie is totally rubbish.
