is it true traci lords was up for the role that went to sharon stone in casino?

i find this really hard to believe if it's along with ginger lynn allen being up for this role also. how could the movie business let two porn girls audition for a role in a big theatre movie? this is unreal. also is martin scorsese a porn fan?

Per IMDb, apparently she was. So was Madonna.

Traci Lords was seriously considered after an excellent audition. Madonna was almost cast, but Sharon Stone convinced director Martin Scorsese to give her the role.
