THE NEST

ANYBODY KNOW OF RELEASE ON REGION 2 DVD

reply

There isn't one as far as I'm aware. Be warned though. the R1 version is cut to ribbons, I had the original unrated VHS version which contained a lot more gore than the Roger Corman Classics DVD release of The Nest. Very disappointing.

reply

Oh no. I didn't know. Are you sure you remember it right? It looks like a TV print, certainly not original elements. Maybe Italy has a decent one...searching >>>

reply

There is a widescreen fully UNCUT version in The Netherlands for sale.
Great quality, no cuts!

reply

Is that the one I recently bought that was just the same as the R1? It was SUPPOSED to be Widescreen, but was fullscreen.
As I suspect, I don't think the R1 was really cut at all. Why would it be? It had gory bits already. I'd like to know exactly what bits were cut.

reply

the R2 dvd is definately widescreen

reply

Just watched the NL DVD and it appears to be uncut. It is in Fullscreen although the cover states it is in 16:9. Picture quality is OK, but it appears that the picture was darkened a little bit compared to the trailer. The sound quality isn't that good either, but all in all it is a decent DVD.

reply

Yep. That's right - says widescreen on the cover, but is fullscreen.
You can tell it is exactly the same as the R1 print - a bit soft, but ok, and as you said, a bit darker. Not one bit of gore is in one that isn't in the other, either, brother.

Still waiting to hear what specific bits are supposed to be cut from the Concorde release.
I even got the old MGM video, but still exactly the same. It did say <R> though. I have not seen any unrated one available.
