Song at end? (spoilers, sort of)

At Jojo's wedding at the end, Jojo's father (at least I think that's who he is) and a couple other dudes are singing happily in what I think we're supposed to think is Portuguese. But I've heard plenty of Portuguese, and I speak Spanish, and the sounds don't seem even the slightest bit familiar to me. It sounds almost more like Greek? Does anyone who speaks Portuguese have any insight into this?

It is in fact legitim portuguese, but with a bit of an accent (azorean + north american) which makes it more difficult to understand than usual.
They´re talking about sapateira (brown crab), and how it makes an excelent dish... It's a fishermen's song I guess.

I like that song!

I'm brazilian, and they are definitely speaking portuguese with a very strong accent from Portugal.

reply

I'm Portuguese and yes they are singing in Portuguese but it has more of an Azorean dialect (from the Azores island).

Dinis Paiva is one of the singers in that scene. He is a semi-famous singer/comedian from the Azores.

Is that song on the soundtrack?
I've been looking for it forever!
Auntie Mame: Live! Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!
