Nope. It's not the sex, it's the relationship and the love.

With the mother gone, the daughter is taking over the 'mother role' in that she looks after her dad and wants happiness for him. Also in such situations, the child grows up a lot faster than others her own age. Her reaction was very 'mature' for her age, in that a daughter who was much older, would probably immediately see her widower father dating again as a good thing.

What's interesting is that Jessie Mills (you're calling her "Young Willow"? WTF?) never seems to have any connection to her mother. This makes one assume that her mother died when she was very young. She has no emotional connection other than knowing that she was good to the father. She quips "You think you'll ever find another one like her?" She sees the absent mother, not as an empty gap in her own life, but only in the context of completing her father.

I agree with the other posters. Though she knows that he 'scored', she sees it as him getting back to being happy and complete in a loving relationship. A very 'enlightened' viewpoint from a daughter so young. :)

you're calling her "Young Willow"?
The opening credits for this movie include "And introducing Alyson Hannigan". A few years later she was part of the ensemble cast in all 9 years of the very popular TV show "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" — as Willow Rosenberg.

Sorry, we thought you knew.

I KNEW she played Willow. It seemed a strange comment at the time. Why refer to her as another character she plays much later in her life. I could have written my post and refer to her as "Young Lily". (FYI that's the character she played on "How I Met Your Mother" or as "Young Michele Flaherty"). Anyway that's why the "WTF".

LOL, I suppose I can refer to all of Heath Ledger's early roles as "Young Joker"..... :) hahahaha
