***SOUNDTRACK***

Hi!...

Does anybody own the ORIGINAL soundtrack and in what year and on what label was it released?

Thanks!

reply

Well... I don't know about a soundtrack for this film but there was a compilation that came out a few years ago called the The Songs of Almodovar which features all the great songs that were featured to such great effect in his movies. You'll find the opening and closing songs from Women on the Verge: Soy Infeliz by Lola Beltran and Teatro by La Lupe as well as other memorable songs from other films like Lo Dudo by Los Panchos (from Law of Desire). It also features selections from Chavela Vargas and Bola de Nieve (from Flower of my Secret) and lots of others. Excellent.

To my knowledge, an official soundtrack was not released. Milan released "Musique Des Films De Pedro Almodovar" in 1990, containing music from "Women on the Verge" as well as "Matador" and "What Have I Done to Deserve This?". These are excerpts from the score by Bernardo Bonezzi.

The album was re-released by Silva America in 1995 as "Almodovar Early Films: Original Music From the Films of Pedro Almodovar." The content is identical but adds two songs from "Labyrinth of Passion" which were released in the "Songs of Almodovar" compilation. You can view the track list and listen to audio clips at Amazon.com.
