Similarity to The Inspector General with Danny Kaye

I think this movie was absolutely hilarious (although over-the-top silly at parts, of course).

It occurred to me that Danny Kaye played a very similar role in a movie I'd seen when I was a kid. "The Inspector General" was an absolute tour-de-farce. If you haven't seen it, Danny also disguises himself as a pompous official (instead of emperor which is the case with Richard Drefuss). Kaye is much more frenetic with his body language and musical singing and dancing skills than Richard Drefuss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x6MGbRkPAU was Danny Kaye's best work. It's actually funnier than Moon over Parador, but they have remarkable similarities and both are very funny.

I thought Drefuss gave one of his funniest efforts here. And it's sad that Raul Julia would only live another 5 years. He looks so healthy in this film.
