What Killed Geoff?

What exactly did Geoff have in those syringes that were intended to kill Ella?

In the lab scenes the bottle has the poison symbol and the word "Sodium" but I can't make out the rest and obviously it's potent as it kills Geoff.

Any help would be most appreciated.

At some point there is a label saying "Phenobarbitol" so I'd guess that's what it was.

Might want to spoiler alert, OP. I know the movie's been out for awhile, but I just saw it last night, and thankfully didn't visit the boards until after i saw it.

I love to love my Lisa.

You should never visit a film's board before you see it.

I always think those who write the "should I see this?" Topics are just pushing their luck in my opinion.

You don't have to visit the board in order to see a spoiler in a thread title, IMDB puts about 5 of the more popular threads on the main page for a film. Anyone who puts a spoiler in a thread title is a narcissist.

PS - I don't think Geoff's dead. Just passed out. They never officially said he was dead. They wouldn't have shown him in the end scene either because after all that secret experimentation crap his friendship with the main character was probably over.

Just watched it, and Melanie checks Geoff's wrist and neck for a pulse. She then looks at Allan and before she can say anything gets attacked by the monkey.

Besides, Geoff said he took enough to take down King Kong. 1 gram of Phenobarbitol can cause serious poisoning, and 2 - 5 grams is usually fatal.

Even in the new Making of, Romero said he liked that Geoff went out laughing. So yeah, pretty sure the guy's dead.
