nod to this movie in Silver Linings Playbook (minor spoiler)

at one point in the middle of a big fight, the next door neighbor kid with the camera rings the door bell again. Bob DeNiro answers the door and immediately drags him back to his house, throws him in the door and shouts at him exactly the way he shouted at Charles Grodin when he was tied to the toilet:

He said something like, "if you come over here again, I'm gonna smash your camera over your head, then I'm going to get a new camera and interview you about what it's like to get your camera smashed over your head."

The similar line in Midnight Run is: "Because you're a *beep* criminal and you deserve to go where you're going and I'm gonna take you there and if hear any more *beep* outta you: I'm gonna *beep* bust your head and I'll put you back in that *beep* hole and I'm gonna stick your head in the *beep* toilet bowl and I'm gonna make it stay there."
