'The Dorfler'

Dorfler's (John Ashton's character) move of driving towards his target and then opening the door to take it down is sheer genius! It's a great way to immobilize a potential threat with minimal danger to yourself and with minimal injury for the target. I'm surprised I've never seen it in other movies. Also, if this move doesn't have a colloquial name I don't know of, it should probably be called 'The Dorfler' in honor of the character who popularized it.

yah it a fun way of putting a rival character down but i wouldnt say it was"minimal injury for the target" !!!!! if u got hit by a swinging car door you would feel real pain i can assure you

Good idea to call this a Dorfler but I'd personally go with doing 'a Marvin'

Eddie Murphy's character Reggie Hammond in 48 Hours does a version of this but the car is stationary at the time . It's the character Luther who's running by and reggie wipes him out with the door.
