I'm sorry to say this, but I was very disappointed in the new blu-ray release. In the darker scenes, the level of grain is ridiculously high. It was so bad, in fact, that I bailed halfway through and watched the second half of the film on my old DVD copy, which I actually found superior.

I realize that there is a school of thought that blu-ray releases should be as "authentic" as possible to the original cinematic release. But there's a line between authenticity and watchability and, imo, the new Midnight Run blu-ray crosses that line.
