most under-rated flick all-time

this movie is like 20+ years old now
and ive seen it like 20+ times now
and it NEVER gets old or stale or loses its appeal

i watch it like once a year or when one of its classic lines
pops into my head

off the top of my head this movie's running time is 2 hours say 120 minutes
and im proposing there're at least 120 classic lines in it
my todo list im giving myself is to write down chronologically
w/ a time stamp too
every one of those lines
well i'll get to it that eventually - i hope
and it will be a fun labor of love

in the meantime please let me just say ...
i LOVE this movie

AND reading its message board
t/y to everyone who's participated - and continues to too - in it

ill end this w/ what i know will be #120

120. 'looks like im walkin'

Those people who have seen it, love it.

Those that have not, are missing out on a gem!

Its that man again!!

It's rated at nearly 8 here on IMDB. What do you mean?

I completely concur with you - This is probably one of the most underated movies of all time; perhaps the most underated comedy of all time !

This is a rare movie production that I cannot find one criticism at all.

You warm to the characters, the dialogue (script) has you in stitches, one hell of an adventure; you can watch this repeatedly without ever becoming bored !

All the people that I know have seen this movie thought it was terrific - A certain 9/10 !!!!!

No argument here.

I don't think this film has ever been as well recognized and appreciated as it truly should be.

It's a classic.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

Couldn't agree more. I think I've seen this fifty times and I still laugh my butt off. A classic in every way.

At the IMDb rating of 7,5/10, this middle-of-the-road, toothless mainstream feelgood flick is actually overrated. 6,5 would be about right.

Damn, can't agree with that, Franz. It's a nice, fun, feel-good comedy with all the right ingredients thrown in there that make it the quintessential "road movie" many believe it is.

When I get excited I sound Caucasian. You know, like that guy from 'Hangin' with Mr. Cooper'. - Griff, MWC

Franz needs a to take a three mile drive off a two mile cliff.

6.5?

Just go away, Franz.

So you're more of Battleship fan then. That's cool, each to their own.

I first saw this when I was in Australia, late 1988 0r 1989. It did not open to any kind of fanfare publicity marketing. I just saw it on a whim. I thought it was something special then. I have watched it so many times, I love it. I have bought it on DVD and given to friends loads of times. It is a complete Gem and one of the most underrated films.
