Would a Prequel work?.

I always thought the whole Jack Walsh/Jimmy Serrano backstory(during the Chicago days) would have made for an interesting film. Of course, it will probably never happen, and it certainly doesn't need to happen, either. But it's interesting to think about, nonetheless. And I know that Dennis Farina has passed on, but I'm imagining they would cast different actors for the roles, since DeNiro is too old to reprise the role anyway(especially since the film would take place roughly 10 years before the events of Midnight Run). So what are your thoughts?.
