A Remake?

Was it just me or did anyone else get this nagging feelin they were watching a remake of an old classic? I just can't put my finger on which one.......

It's not a remake as far as I know, but the premise of the plot has some elements in common with Suspicion, the Cary Grant movie. (Poor guy with a past marries rich girl and possibly plans a murder.) However it's definitely not the same story.

I loved this movie when it first came out. It's a free movie on On Demand. I watched it again last night. The basis for the story line definitely comes from Suspicion.

The music and pacing of this movie was very reminiscent of "Body Heat". That's what this movie reminds me of.

Dick Wolf wrote and produced this film, he of all that "Law and Order" fame.

I just breathed a sigh of relief...I thought you were PROPOSING a remake!

(Seriously...can you imagine a remake of this film nowadays? Every male character would be in sagging jeans and a sideways baseball cap, calling each other "bra" and ordering "brewskis", and every female would wear a bikini top and cut offs and body glitter and Tammy Faye makeup...and we'd have endless scenes of them partying at the club [and I don't mean the country club]...and the score would be from a lame hip hop group no one listens to, or a nu metal band recording in their Dad's garage, or the latest bobo Lisa Loeb-clone [sorry, Lisa.] Not that I have issue with any of that...but in a movie set in the Hamptons? Sadly the norm today, both in reality and in film, but totally out of place in a movie like this...Ok, my old lady rant's over. :))
