Saw a lot of the scenes filmed in.....

Hamptons. I worked in a lot of those mansions back in the 80s. Was there for a lot of the scene's filmed especially the graduation scene in the beginning. That estate is right off Montauk Hwy and the grounds of the estate are breathtaking to say the least. I also got to play softball in Sag Harbor with Rob Lowe and the crew during a night time break. Fond memories.

Cool. Some of the shots in the film were breathtaking, especially the sailing ones. Btw, is Rob Lowe as handsome in real life as he is on film? Also, how tall is he really? He doesn't look as tall as 5ft 11 in this film; maybe 5ft 9/weak 5ft 10.

Going back quite a few years but yeah I remember him just a shade under me and I'm 6'1"
When we played softball he was very competitive so it was fun. I'll say he was a great guy and very approachable and just talked like he knew you from around the neighborhood or something. The whole crew was great and bought us all beers for the whole game.
It was a nice memory because it was so unexpected. Whenever that movie comes on all the memories from the 80s just come back to me, not just the memories from seeing that movie being filmed. Fun times back in the day. I'm glad I was raised near the Hamptons

Interesting!

Any other memorable Hamptons experiences you'd like to share? I've never visited but have always been curious, especially given my fascination with Grey Gardens in East Hampton.

Well yes, I worked in William Paley's house, he owned CBS at the time or something like that. The guy didn't even acknowledge I was alive while working right in front of him in his mansion. When I was done and needed a signature, he didn't even look at me. Signed the paperwork and dismissed me.
Met Alyssa Milano, Michael Douglas and David Lee Roth.
Also walked up to an estate and walked in the backyard and nothing but hot AZZ all over the place frolicking in the pool topless.
But my favorite was when I was working an early morning Sunday and working in this rich guys house and he was banging a model right in front of me while I working in his room. Crazy *beep* those rich *beep*

Wow, talk about "hot fun in the summertime". I was just a kid in the 80s and never got to partake in or even witness the hedonistic craziness. Your stories certainly live up to everything I've imagined, particularly of the wealthy. I appreciate your sharing them and imagine others do too.
