I never understood the reference that Tony and Karen make when exchanging the key to her hotel room at the restaraunt--"10+12, 12+10"...I know it wasnt her room number, I think she said it was 17, so what is this reference for? Thanks :)

It referenced the time that they were to rendezvous; 10 past 12 or 12 past 10. I always thought it was supposed to be an inside joke between the two of them to illustrate the ongoing nature of their affair.
