Those Friday The 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street. I wish they made more of these type slashers that have somewhat of a plot instead of maniacs pointlessly walking around killing people

Maniac cop is great but Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm street did have killers with a point. both Freddy Krugger and Jason Voorhees killed for revenge

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

I don't get your point? How is Matt Cordell's revenge any different to Jason Vorhees'? They are kind of in the same boat ...

It's got more of a 'street' and obviously 'cop' story vibe to it than your standard slasher flick that usually takes place in the woods or suburbs or same place seemingly safe. The city setting makes it more gritty.

I disagree. I like this film but I'm a slasher purist, this action-crime rift on the sub-genre is nice for a change but you can't beat the simplicity and purity of films like Friday the 13th.
