I remember seeing a really freaky cartoon as a kid, where a girl in a skin-tight white jump suite and long black hair is having a running gun battle through some strange white metal corridors with a load of armed soldiers. There was so much blood it was up to her knees. Suddenly, she got shot and flew up into the air, landed in the sea and suddenly re-emerged supported by robot arms while a weird mereman creature licked her feet with a tenticle-like tongue. Now, I'm either stark raving mad or this movie exists and that's all I saw of it. It was back in the 80's, when BBC2 was doing a season of artsie-fartsy animation that kids really shouldn't be watching. Can anyone help?

Somewhat sounds like the almagamation of two episodes of Aeon Flux. No white suit however.

I seem to remember this also! However in the same quandry as you. I cannot remember it. If you do Let me know. And I will do the same. It has been a while since I have seen Heavy Metal, but im sure it wasn't that.

It's the first season of Aeon Flux. Basically, it was a segment of MTV's Liquid Animation show. Divided into five or six parts, 13 mins in all.

To differentiate from later seasons, that particular story is now simply called "Pilot" (as in pilot episode, although it wasn't originally intended to be a series.)

You can find several videos on Youtube with Aeon Flux related content. Maybe even an episode or two. (I've only found one from season 2 and 3.)
