The Book

Where can I get a copy of the book?

reply

The book is by Isaac Asimov and is titled "Metal Men March Against Gandahar"
Try Amazon or other online book stores.

Great Book and Movie. Asimov is the best Sci Fi writer in history. Its amazing how many movies and books have 'borrowed' from his ideas.

After surfin a bit, it looks like Asimov just did the adaption, a cat named Jean-Pierre Andrevon wrote the original. Looks like it may be in french. Its called Cap sur Gandahar at Amazon. I saw this movie when I was in High-school, still have a VHS copy somewhere. :)

I've been trying to find an English translation of the book, so far no luck. I also have the movie on VHS, it's my favorite non-Japanese anime.

You may also want to check bookstores and local libraries for "Les homme-machines contre Gandahar" (metal men against gandahar). I think Andrevon wrote an entire series based in Gandahar, and the one adapted by Asimov is "Les homme-machines". I'm not sure if there's a direct English translation, but learning French can be fun and profitable!

Years ago I wrote a letter to Monsieur Andrevon. I asked him if his work had ever been translated to English. He said that it had not (and he joked about it) but told me that he would discuss the possibility with his agent, in order to reach more readers.

I bought the first Gandahar novel (but I'm a bit slower when reading French as opposed to English).
