4/10. Here's why:

THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST was adapted from a novel instead of the Bible, which is why it wasn't included below*. It has a lot of interesting ideas scattered across almost 3 hours, when it could've been a lot shorter. Actually, most of them are concentrated in the last part. It has a very good music score, but the performances... They're not bad, but I feel the cast and Martin Scorsese abused the rule of historical movies that states that the characters don't have to speak like people did in the time period. The way they talk is too modern and it's distracting.

*With the other movies about Jesus. You can read the comments about them and other movies at http://vits-ingthemovies.blogspot.cl/2015/09/comments-round-up-august-2015.html

Any thoughts?

I agree and I also give it a 4.

The American accents were so distracting for one. I did found the third act more interesting, because as you said, the good parts were concentrated there.

Could've been a much better film...

I almost watched the movie. But my dad saved me and told me that it's making fun of Jesus

reply

Uh... Maybe your dad had it confused with Life of Brian?
