So, is the movie implying... (SPOILERS)

So, is the movie implying that Michael and Zena had an incestuous relationship (or at least one tryst) as teens and that's what got Michael to give up on secular life and join the clergy? He has that, at first wet, and then just plain disturbing dream about Angela and Zena. Why would he dream something like that? On the other hand, Zena says to him: "I've been damned to hell when I was 15, you know that" or something to that effect. Now, that could either simply mean that she lost her virginity before marriage and won't repent, or that the two had sex back then and now she's seen as damned forever while he believes he's off the hook since he dedicated his life to the church. Also, there's that scene where he kisses her hand that could be read either literally or symbolically.
