This song has always been in my head since this movie. I know it was composed for movies originally, but does anyone know how to get the lyrics and or the music separate of the movies?

reply

Here you go;

Did you ever see a dream walking?
Well, I did!
Did you ever hear a dream talking?
Well, I did!

Did you ever have a dream thrill you
with "Will you be mine?"
Oh it's so grand
and it's too, too divine.

Did you ever see a dream dancing?
Well, I did!
Did you ever see a dream romancing?
Well, I did!

Did you ever find heaven right in your arms,
saying I love you, I do?
Well, the dream that was walkin'
and the dream that was talkin'
and the heaven in my arms was you

reply

Oh, my word! That's exactly why I'm here, too!

The creepiest thing about this movie is the only thing I remember about it was the song and when the little girl appears to the little boy, becuase I saw it years ago when I was younger, but the song haunted me until I saw The Green Mile and I just sat up and thought, "There's that song!!" Yeah I have no life

reply

Hey...don't feel bad - THE creepiest part for ME, with this movie AND this song, is the way the little girl hauntingly sings the song at the very end of the credits to the same movie "Lady In White"......*shiver*

And by the way....What is it with the fact that ANY song can sound creepy....if a child sings it.....DOES ANYONE ELSE FIND THAT TO BE TRUE - BESIDES ME...?

Example: - Samara humming 'that song' throughout the entire time in "THE RING".

- THE CREEPY TUNE in the movie "THE AMITYVILLE HORROR" (original/remake)

- A WHOLE CHOIR OF CREEPY KIDS singing the theme to "POLTERGEIST" and then - as if that weren't scary enough - LAUGHING AND GIGGLING at the end credits.....CREEPY - although, in my opinion, one of THE BEST themes there is.

Oh....and FYI - didja guys know that the song "Did You Ever See A Dream Walking?" was ALSO picked as Freddy Krueger's UNOFFICIAL theme for the first installment of the "NIGHTMARE..." series...? ....check it out - it plays at the end credits of the movie........MAN, I GOTTA GET ME A LIFE... LOL!

I think this song also plays at the end credits of the shining. I could be wrongs though.

reply

maybe because it was sang by a child abuser

reply

i mean sang by bing cosboy he was a child abuser to his children and his wife also

reply

Yeah Bing Crosby was a *beep*

But I love the song regardless and no it wasn't in The Shining.

reply

Song at the end of The Shining was "Midnight with the Stars and You"

reply

If you want to see it used in a much lighter fashion, check out the old black-and-white Popeye cartoon, "A Dream Walking."

I first heard the song in a music and dance recital in the mid-1950s when I was about seven years old. I knew the song was one Bing Crosby had made famous, and it did not seem creepy to me. However, in this film the lyrics pertain to the ghost the little boy sees, and it would have a creepy connotation.
