I'd include Fellini's La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2 and Antonioni's Passenger in that list too, and I'd go back further for Visconti's Ossessione too...

More recently I thought 'I Am Love' was totally lush visually, and, on a more leftfield tip, Noe's 'Enter The Void' is a stunner as well.

Also, how about some Wenders - 'Paris, Texas' springs to mind, which in turn reminds me of the Coens' 'No Country For Old Men'

I Am Cuba...Mexican Bus Ride...Burnt by the Sun...The Human Condition pts 1 2 and 3...Blissful Alexandre...Black Sunday (Bava)...The White Dove...Vidas Secas...Roads to Kokktebal...The Island (Russian)...man, the list goes on but check out anything other than American for a change; foreign cinema from the 50s on up, beautiful. Oh yeah, The Yearning (Armenian) and Umut (Turkish) and finally Cairo Station (Egyptian).

Sorry but this film can't hold a candle to Tarkovsky. (nor can anything else on that list)
