No, gore is the last thing this movie needed. It would have added nothing, and Killer Klowns stands out by taking a different route with its executions, much "creepier" than any gore much fest.

Both of you probably knows no fun splatter movies (like Bad taste,Toxic Avenger,Terror Firmer) ?
A Remake or Sequel should have splatter and comedy.

Bad Taste was a fun movie? I thought that movie was crap.
Toxic Avenger film is a better example, but I still don't see any reason that Killer Klowns needs to go in that direction.
Whereas the Troma films' humour comes from, for the most part, being pretty *beep* up, the Killer Klowns was funny because of the absurdity of the situations. The Klowns kill you through custard pies, popcorn and use of balloon animals. It was funny because it was so stupid. It doesn't require the edge that something like Toxic Avenger or the Nuke 'Em High films use, in my opinion.
I don't think gore was necessary. It could have made for a fun splatter movie, though.
"I'm so happy dancing while the Grim Reaper cuts, cuts, cuts, but he can't get me!"
Even though the movie was intended to be campy, it's still genuinely creepy due to some people actually being afraid of clowns. So the film actually works fine as is.
