Worst football movie ever made

This movie is sooooooooo bad. The front yard football game could very well be the cheesiest sequence in the history of cinema.

Oh God. That's exactly when I turned this trash off. Completely unwatchable.

Uhm, I don't think this is a football movie.

It is a comedy for you to sit down and enjoy. The 80's were very cheesy back then and I miss those qualities in todays films to be honest with you. I liked the movie and I remember watching this film when I was 16 years old when it first came out in 1988.

It's not just the worst football movie, for me it's the worst movie I've ever seen, edging out Who's That Girl. What grinds my gears the most about this movie is that the director thought he was making a statement about recruitment, etc., when in fact he just made a pile of crap. I haven't seen it in a while, but one scene that sticks in my head is the private jet from a school that's trying to recruit Hall, and it shows up with horns attached to the fuselage. Jesus H Christ, the plane wouldn't be airworthy.

you guys are taking this movie too seriously. It was meant to be a cheesy, goofy movie. This was the 80s and everything was corny back then. If you take this movie seriously in the slightest bit then you're looking into it too much.

The entire movie is cheesy from the opening scene, "i broke my d**k", Robert Downey Jr running the wrong way then turning around and still scoring, the cheerleader showing her stuff, Howard Cosell calling him to congratulate him, if that wasn't enough of a warning that this was going to be over the top ridiculously cheesy, then i dont know what more you needed.

They aren't trying to make a statement about recruiting. Thats the way it was and they just made it over the top. Heck look at the coverage for the kid on signing day, that looks like kids these days holding press conferences and ESPN televising it. But it was meant to be fun. Do you think people wouldn't notice a dead guy in Weekend at Bernie's? Don't you think he'd start to smell after a while? But as over the top ridiculous as that is its like that to make you laugh at the ridiculousness.

Even though this movie is so corny i can't help but watch it when it's on. Its just interesting to see where the careers have gone of some of the actors.

This film doesn't rise to the level of cheesy or corny. It's only bad. Extremely bad. Obnoxious.

reply

Well, that's understandable, since it's not really about football, but the politics that occur AWAY from the field...
