What kind of car is the one that he drives? its the black one with turbo written on the side. He leaves it in the tunnel with the bomb.
shareIt's a 5th generation Mitsubishi Galant. My first guess was that it was a 1st gen. Mitsubishi Magna (which is based on the Galant), however those were only made in Australia and never came with a turbo.
EDIT: I was wrong. The black car he drives at the beginning was the Galant, the one he drives at the end with the bomb is a 2nd gen. Mitsubishi Mirage. It would appear that Mitsubishi got their money's worth in product placement with this movie!

As an Australian (like the OP) I can say quiet categorically it was also called the Mitsubishi Colt here, just as it was there in the UK. Perhaps it may have been called a Mirage in Hong Kong though. However a short lived vehicle came along later (in the 1990s) called the Mirage, after the Colt had disappeared from the Australian market. Also that first large car that was called a Magna in Australia was different to the Mitsubishi Gallant we had which was a popular mid sized rally vehicle. I believe that Gallant may have existed in the UK as well.
