Disjointed Mess?

I just saw this on BBC America. The, what I assume to have been, miniseries was cut down to a 2hour movie with commercial. Meaning, probably, and 1.5 hours. The ending may absolutely no sense.

I'm sure it was much better than it appeared to be.

I think it was a mini series when it was on originally but I remember thinking that it varied wildly from the book and if I remember correctly the ending was completely changed. There also mseemed to be half the characters in the book missing too.

Although it was different from the book. I thought the mini-series was very good in it's own right. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My VHS copy is 198 minutes long, with credits. So what you saw on TV sounds like a terrible mess! I totally understand if it did not make sense at all. But if you see it all (all of the 198 minutes) it makes (almost!) perfect sense and is a very good way to spend time. Like the cover says, "Sex and horse, who could ask for more?" ;-)

However, the book is very different and I don't really think you should expect them to be two versions of the same story, but instead watch the movie (mini-series) as a story of its own.
