Will the Upcoming Bluray DVD release fix the hanging microphones

I had this movie but haven't seen it for a long time. I noticed it was being released again and went looking for it.

In a scene behind the glass of a police interview room, 2 detectives are speaking to their Expert. You can seen the boom mike above them moving back and forth as each one speaks.

Since it's possible to remove the mic, I certainly hope they will.

a million dollar budget in 1988 was good for a low budget movie.

Seeing boom mics at the top of the screen shows quality of the production team

You've been watching the open matte version (old tv ratio). The microphones would have been masked off when it was shown in cinemas in widescreen.

Nevertheless, Don Devine should have protected the full frame, knowing the home-video market at the time was 4:3. If you check out his credits, he'd only been operating for a year. By the time the dailies came back it would have been way too late to go back & reshoot the scene just for the sake of home video.

The BluRay is digitally remastered & restored, with the top & bottom of the full frame masked-off to the theatrical widesceen ratio. Correct composition and no microphones!
