Why would anyone call this movie Red Rain?

After reading this trivia entry, I have to ask - why call this Red Rain?

I got to stand with the studio heads on this one. Jack' Back is even a bit clever, since you think it's about reincarnation or something, yet it goes in a very different direction.

Also, Gabriel's song would be too cheerful for this movie.
