Twist?

SPOLIERS!

Is the ending of this film supposed to be a twist? If so, then that's pretty lame because anyone with a brain realized that the boyfriend was a red herring and the co-manager lost his cookies because the store was being shut down. Within the first 10 minutes it's obvious they were trying to get the audience to pin any wrong-doings on the ex-boyfriend. Was anyone actually surprised that the co-manager was the killer?
