Why no DVD version?
I know that this is probably a cult favorite as opposed to a movie that would sell millions of copies, but am I the only one who is surprised there hasn't been a DVD release of "The In Crowd" yet? I mean, I have seen some pretty obscure films pop up on DVD and some other ones that weren't obscure but pretty terrible. I'd rather buy a copy of this than some garbage like "Gigli" or some made for tv movie. I personally think that this movie is much better than "Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights" and perhaps as a promotion, it could be released along with the original "Dirty Dancing" film. People already consider this the male version of "Dirty Dancing" so why not offer a sort of double feature. I've seen a lot of that lately. When I've gone to Wal-Mart or Sam's Club, there have been double feature promotions where two DVDs that are similar (either they have the same actor/actress in both movies or they have similar themes) are packaged together and sold for a little more than just the individual movie. I would bet that you could get some of the main cast to give some brief interviews about the movie and the only other thing I think would be good to include would be a soundtrack listing on the DVD so people won't have to stand an inch away from their TV rewinding and pausing the tape just to make sure they haven't missed any songs. I wonder how many people there would have to be willing to buy a dvd before whoever has the authority to put one out would consider it. At this point, I'd just like the movie even without any extras because my copy is in not so great shape and VHS tapes don't have that long of a shelf life.
