why no body guards?

For God's sake, everyone has body guards, people who are far less famous than the beatles. why didn't john have one?

well, if you're talking about when he lived in NYC, I think his attitude was, and in my opinion it did make sense...in a place like NYC...you're going to stand out even MORE if you have bodyguards. you can blend in if you have none, for the most part. we all know how it ended tragically for him in nyc, but I believe that was his attitude, and it did make a certain amount of sense.

I don't know about for other places. Like at his Titenhurst estate, how that guy was hanging 'round the garden because they didn't have security lol

yeah,

I have never been to NYC, but I have heard that famous celebs walk down the street like everyone else. i think paul has body guards, now. he didn't until george was attacked. who would have thought a band like the beatles would have psychos for fans. no one has ever shot at marilyn manson or ozzy.

I think that was a different time with a different mindset. In New York, celebrities could walk down the street without being bothered. It wasn't cool for a New Yorker to go nuts over celebrities.

However, with Lennon's murder, a new era started. I kept an article from "US" magazine that was quite well written. It describes how since Lennon's murder, stars are removing themselves from all public records, making themselves invisible. Check out Gavin DeBecker. He is a very well-known security consultant who helps stars with security. And it's scary to know how many crazy people are out there.

Nowadays, fame just isn't worth the cost. Crazies even go after up and coming stars. And Broadway stars also now need heavy security.

He had a bodyguard - Gordon Mcdougall. Mcdougall suggested he should be there whenever Lennon left or entered a building, and should be in the car with him but John didnt want that. He reasoned if they want to get you that bad, they just get the bodyguard first.
