Guilty Pleasure

While not the greatest movie in the world I must admit ever time it comes on I watch it with some enjoyment. Wouldnt mind seeing it released on dvd. As long as it's one of those cheap movies you can pick up for about five bucks.

Well, I also like Hot To Trot & I believe that it's an ok movie. I just haven't seen this movie since the late 1980's/early 1990's.

Its A Disco For Ferns!!!!!!!!!

I swear me and my sister saw this one in theaters when i was like five or six but she didn't know what the hell i was talking about..."talking horse that sings Tutti Frutti you must have dreamed that one" So for sometime I thought i dreamed this movie...only to see it on tv a couple years later (not too long later i was prob still in elementry school then)...now its one of the insanest films i throw at people who think they know everything! Talking Horse who gives stock tips....Genius!!! ACTING!!! THANK YOU~~~~the only thing missing is Jon Lovitz but it does have Gilbert Gottfried as the confused dentist at the end....

to all those who can't get enough Bobcat in insane movies I strongly recommend Freaked....bobcat plays Sockhead literally a guy with a sock puppet in place where his head should be!

nice to see Bobcat;s coming up in the world though...his newest movie which he;s not in, but he wrote and directed it actually received some pretty good reveiws...can't think of the name of it now...sleeping with dogs??? something like that....it opened up at two theaters here in NY in Sept...so look for it when it hits dvd which should be in a couple months...

Disco For Ferns!!!

I rented this several times when I was like 9 and I loved it, but I don't know if I should see it again. I'm afraid it won't be as good this time around.

A race horse from PepperRidge Farm? Only John Candy could have ever fulfilled such a funny role!

reply

I just saw this movie on HBO. Even though it's corny, that's what makes it so funny. I don't think any other actor would have made a better talking horse than the talented John Candy. I really miss him.

For some wierd reason, I thought this was more funnier than I remember. And, if you own horses as I do, you'll find it hard not to laugh out loud over several scenes. Watch this movie with a group, you won't be sorry.

I concur, its like some other John Candy gems e.g. Summer Rental, Who is Harry Crumb? and Nothing but Trouble. Definitely no oscar noms for those but they are good for a few chuckles!!!

Don: "Hey Fred do you mind? This is my favorite movie and I don't recall you being in it."

That one always gets me!!! Hahahahaha!!

reply

This is not one of those movies that are supposed to make you think. It's simply slapstick comedy put together badly that is nothing more but to make you chuckle. So for all those people who don't get that and scream foul of a horrible movie, then you wasted your time. Just the cover of the movie tells you what to expect. A talking horse? What did you expect? A story like casablanca? Sheesh...

Usually whenever I get coffee, think of the part where Don tells Goldwaith what the next big stock is going to be;

Don: "Coffee."

Goldwaith: "COFFEE!?!

Don: "Trust me..."

I enjoyed it as well. I remember seeing it on Comedy Central all the time in the late 90's.

I'm watching it now and it is a lot better than I thought it would be. I am a huge fan of John Candy.
