Hey! There's a High Spirits CD and the tune is on that. It's probably the first song on the CD, and that one's called the High Spirits Overture. It's used over and over again in different versions throughout the CD and movie.

I can see why you would confuse these two pieces of music, but I promise you they are not the same piece. The film's music was written specifically for it by George Fenton and has a very traditional Irish sound. The music used in the Beef commercials is a piece by Aaron Copeland called "Rodeo: HoeDown" and has a similar sound, but with much more Western tones. They do have very similar rhythms, so they are definitely very confusable.

Hope that helps! 

The whole High Spirits soundtrack is available from itunes and is well worth it. This is one of those rare soundtracks that suit the film exactly, all orchestral and just fantastic for a film about ghosts, romance and comedy and of course the stellar performance by Peter O'Toole!

You can get the score from eMusic for free if you're not a member, or much cheaper than iTunes if you are. I'm buying six tracks next month.
