The Soundtrack by Christopher Young

I'm surprised not too see any posts relating to the superb soundtrack by Christopher Young.

IMHO the soundtrack is the best thing about this movie. Young far surpasses his work for the first film. The grand, yet at times very cold, empty sounds, is what kept me waiting for just what was going to happen next on the screen. There just seemed to be so much stuff that didn't go anywhere in the film, but the soundtrack had everything I was looking for. It's rare for me to like a movie's soundtrack and not liking the film it's in as well.

Anyone else's thought?

I think Christopher Young's score is wonderful.

He also wrote the music for Species. I think the piece that plays over the opening credits is hauntingly beautiful.

I agree, he did an excellent job with this series. I love his surreal stuff, he also did a great job with Flowers in the attic in the 80s

I own the two disc, complete score for Hellraiser 1 and 2. To be honest, I don't care for Hellbound's score nearly as much as the one for the first film. I am not really sure why everyone always claims it to be better, but I guess we are all different in what we look for in stuff like this. The first film's score is one of Young's best works, I think.

On the flip side, I agree with you that Hellbound is not a particularly good film. Visually impressive, but not great by any means.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.
