decent thriller but could've been more creative to solve H2 ending issue

I know fans of the series explain away the obvious continuity gaffes by saying "Michael's an evil force", but you can't deny that at the end of H2, Michael lost both eyes and he and Loomis not only where in a small room with a massive explosion but then their bodies were shown burning.

I think they could've reshot parts of the ending, used old footage mixed with the new footage to create a more realistic explanation. Maybe even cut to scenes where Loomis & Michael were saved from the fire and operated on. This could've been quick, over opening titles. It could've explained at how maybe his eyes were damaged but they'd "heal" and how they can save both their lives, but Michael's in coma or something.

Just tossing around some exposition at the opening was lame. It's obvious they made this just for money and didn't care, but I think they could've considered some creative options.

No need to explain Michael. He cannot be stopped. That's it. Even being beheaded gets retconned. Loomis on the other hand is tougher to get past. People survive burns and explosions, but not necessarily that severe. Bottom line there is that JLC and Laurie were not coming back, Pleasence was willing to and the film would've been worse without him. So they needed the character. They made it work.

I'm a bigger fan of the Pleasence Halloweens than the ones they did after he died.

I love Dave's "Nothing could have/should have been done better" mentality and how he uses evidence from later, even worse films to explain how Halloween 4 didn't need to be improved.

All you're doing is proving that at or below average film-making defines the sequels and that they rely on vague sentiments like "Oh, he's evil" to justify being lazy and trite.

I read somewhere that the original opening for H4 was suppose to be the ending of H2 showing the big explosion pushing Loomis out of the room which explains why he "survived".

They should have said Myers was wearing fire retarded (lol) coveralls.

They could have filmed an alternative take on the hospital explosion for part 4. Somehow Michael gets up from falling onto the floor burning alive and stumbles out of another exit, firemen see him burning and put him out then the paramedics take care of him
