4/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:
HAIRSPRAY is full of good intentions, but I wish it was also full of witty moments. There are, but only a few. The pacing is bad and, for some reason, the songs are the least catchy ones of the era it takes place in (the 1960s). When TRACY TURNBLAD (the protagonist) sees LINK LARKIN (the boy she likes) on TV, she kisses the screen with an open mouth. That's cute and all, but the anchorman is saying that both of his knees are broken. Doesn't TRACY care about that? That should give you an idea on what John Waters' priorities are: A compelling story is secondary to shock value and cheap laughs.

HAIRSPRAY está llena de buenas intenciones, pero desearía que también estuviera llena de momentos ingeniosos. Los hay, pero solo unos pocos. El ritmo es malo y, por alguna razón, las canciones son las menos pegajosas de la época en la que transcurre (la década de 1960). Cuando TRACY TURNBLAD (la protagonista) ve a LINK LARKIN (el chico que le gusta) en la tele, ella besa la pantalla con la boca abierta. Eso es lindo y todo lo demás, pero el reportero está diciendo que sus 2 rodillas están rotas. ¿A TRACY no le importa eso? Eso debería darles una idea de cuáles son las prioridades de John Waters: una historia conmovedora va después del factor de shock y las risas baratas.
