What's With The Dumb Ending?

Spoiler Ahead

I thought this was an okay low budget film and was enjoying it for what it was and then at the end it turns out it was a film within a film and that Frankenstein's monster and the Wolfman are in the cinema's projection room. ????? This ending is like something out of a kiddie show which is strange considering the violent tone of the rest of the film. It spoilt the movie for me. I have the Shout Factory dvd and GROTESQUE is one of a quartet of films. The others are THE VELVET VAMPIRE, LADY FRANKENSTEIN and TIMEWALKER. There are no extras at all for GROTESQUE not even a trailer.

The whole movie is stupid but that ending takes the price!

That ending was originally cut from the movie when first released and only would show up when Grotesque ran on TV. It has only recently been added back into the film along with some other scenes for the DVD release.
