I work in a library and put a copy away a couple weeks ago. I chose to display it next to a highly regarded film. Today I was putting it away again, and again chose to display it. The thing was gone long before the end of the day.

Ok it's not as good as 'Planes Trains and Automobiles,' but it is easily in the top 20 on the list of best 80's comedies. And that's a long list!
Great comedy. Watch it probably once a year and still laugh my ass off. I do agree that the teen love scenes are a distraction though. Maybe this is the year I try to conquer the ole 96er.
