White Silk She-Sleen
What a Be-atch! Is this woman ever going to get over herself? Ute is really beautiful! So caring and compassionate! But El-in-or just considers her a fool for being a nice person. I can't wait until Miss High-And-Mighty learns some true humility. I was glad when Verna got kidnapped because she thought she was better than the Kajirae. But I have to give her props for the way she is handling her captivity. Far classier than El-in-or. I'm just up to the part where their wagon train is being raided so I guess they will be abducted. I am hoping Verna will be abducted by the same man and the two of them will end up on the same chain. I also wonder who that talking animal is who is also a master. I guess I'll find out.
I'm reading this book out of sequence as the one I am up to hasn't arrived yet in the mail. I'm waiting for Assassin of Gor. But I figured it wouldn't hurt anything because Tarl isn't in this one so not being current on his life shouldn't matter. I see Ko-ro-ba is intact in this one, whether it has been restored or this all happened before it was destroyed, I don't know.
This book is interesting as it makes one think about what is freedom and what is slavery. The Kajirae in this book kind of remind me of Geisha. Targo apparently wants to market Elinor's virginity, like that girl in Memoirs of a Geisha. I'm also reminded of another movie I saw about Geisha where a Geisha said, "To us, ego is an embarrassment," while another said, "The only garment for our frail humanity is not the Kimono but dignity."
