Waiting for Ghost Town...

So many true statements in the comments area. This is a TIMELESS horror flick, and for some reason it's being passed up, collecting dust and fading into nonexsistance. NOT FAIR! I want this movie on DVD - I want people to know about this movie again, damnit! It doesn't deserve to die like this! Not this kind of quality!

If you feel the same, let me know.

It's on The Horror Channel tonight in Britain, 9pm!

I am completely with you man. I bought this movie from my video store, since it had a cheesey looking cover, and Charles Bands name on it. I just watched it, and was suprised to find a legitimately entertaining horror flick. This is so much better than a lot of the garbage that actually gets released on DVD, maybe one day though, one day. At least we can always dream.

I saw this last night on ZOne Horror in the UK. I have not seen it since about 1989 but I was surprised how much I did remember from it. The music they used was also used in Mutant (1984).

I totally agree with you guys. I am soo glad that I finally found fans of this movie. I watched it in 1988, and till now I am addicted to it. I have it all over my facebook and my youtube profiles. That was a real horror movie, and much more better than the late garbage horror. Jimmie F skaggs " Devlin", was a professional actor. I wonder whay was he forgotten by movie makers all of those years till he passed away in 2004. I felt so sad for him.

I converted my VHS into a DVD. I don't think it would ever be released on a DVD.

Thanks folks for your cool comments about this movie.

I'm kind of hoping it stays in the shadows. If it gets any kind of recognition, there would be a very good chance this one would get remade. Now THAT would NOT be fair. This is a great, underrated movie.

I just bought the Laserdisc of Ghost Town off of Ebay. Hopefully it's a decent transfer; not just a VHS transfer (hell, even a BetaCam master transfer would be preferable!)

It is at least in Ultra Stereo Surround.

Here are the Laserdisc details from the Laserdisc Database:

Well I watched the Laserdisc last night. It looks pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Definitely better than VHS quality.

I'm guessing the transfer was made from a Betacam master which has higher resolution and color bandwidth than VHS.

It's still pan & scan though.

I'm not sure that "this kind of quality" was ever alive. Basically, it's an hour and a half that I can't get back. That's a shame, since there are so many *good* films that I could have been watching.
