Favorite Scene?

I am shocked by the low rating for Funny Farm. It was the last film directed by George Roy Hill and the casting is awesome. What are you favorite scenes?

One of the funniest is when the movers ask Mack for directions:

Mack: How'd you know my name was Mac?
Mover: Guessed
Mack: Then guess your way to Redbud.

Mack: Well if I was going to Redbud I sure as hell wouldn't start here.

That one is very good but another good scene is where they are fishing and Chevy is trying to knock out one of the fishers to get the hook out.

If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with the lamb fries!

The credits.

Any scene with the postman. I love that guy and his laugh is comedy gold in itself.

The mailman's laugh, especially when he says he "is sorry to see the Farmers go" is epic.

Jake

reply

"Cue the deer."

As the last poster said, all scenes with the mailman.

All scenes with the Sheriff, too. Especially when he responds to Elizabeth's complaint about the mailman:

"You're on Petrie's route, aren't you? See, the trouble is, your place is five miles out of his way. By the time he gets all the way out here, he's pretty well liquored up and pissed off. My advice to you: learn to live with it."

-"You're representing him in another matter? Isn't that a conflict of interest?"

Andy explaining to the townspeople his blame percentage.

"The squirrel is me, isn't it?"
"Oh, no honey."
"What's his name?"
(gulp) "Andy."

and then: "He doesn't make it into the second book. He gets run over by a truck in the first book."

My favorite is when the movers arrive and the one mover throws his chair into the pond.

In the beginning Chevys first goes to the house and sees the pond and says
"I can probably pull fish out of there with my bare hands" it's a small line not anything special but the way Chevy says it always makes me laugh for some reason. There are so many but that sticks out seeming that I haven't watched in a while. Love the pay phone call in the house to when he's yelling that it's not a pay phone but "a 1948 phone that some jack-ass installed instead of a new one" and the lady hangs up after saying "5 cents please" lolol

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

When Elizabeth hits the dog with the frying pan (off camera) to get the skeleton arm away from him then dumps it into the trash.

The bridge scene was hilarious

I also like when he talks to the phone operators ...."sheriffs office please"

reply

Awesome scene with the bridge: "Termites holding hands! I wouldn't go over this thing on a skateboard!" ... then the other guy says "Have some faith in the craftsmanship of our forefathers" to which the other guy says "Your forefathers, not my forefathers!"
