Lamb Fries......

When Chevy ( Chase ) and Madolyn Smith went out to celebrate the finishing of his " novel ", they stopped at the local diner and he proceeded to beat the record of how many " LAMB FRIES " were eaten in one sitting. He broke the record BUT when he found out what he was eating, he spit out the last one.

My question is, did his plate really have " lamb fries/lamb testicles " on it? If not, then does anyone know what he WAS eating because it looked kind of good. For me, put gravy on any meal for me and I dont care what I eat LOL, but I doubt I would ever eat " lamb fries ". They looked like mini pigs in a blanket with brown gravy.

If anyone knows what it really was that he was eating, I appreciate the answer very much.......

Thanks again and have a Very HAPPY HOLIDAY Season !!!!!!

Hi,
I have a funny story for you. Back in 1997 I was at the SNL show that Chevy was hosting, I am friends with a guy who at the time was working for SNL. I was at the after party and had a few drinks with Chevy. Three years later, we were at the Subway series in Ny and one row ahead of us was Chevy. Funny Farm is one of my fathers favorite movies, and after I told him that I have run into Chevy Chase twice now in my life, he said, sarcastically, "the next time you see Chevy again aske him where Funny Farm was filmed". I said "of course, sure thing" thinking sure like I'll run into him again. One year later I am in a resturant in ST. Barths and who is sitting across from me? Chevy and his daughter. I knew I had to go over, I promised my Dad. He was charming and so willing to tell me about Funny Farm. The lamb fries were actually rolled up fried bologna, the town is Grafton Vt., and it was the most fun he had making a movie. I know its a long story to answer your question, but we think it is rather priceless. I hope this helps!

Interesting little tidbit. I always thought that the 'Lamb Fries' looked really good, even after I found out what they were supposed to be lol.

wow thats a good story, he must be a great guy that he was willing to talk about that experience w/ you, especially while he was eating lunch w/ his daughter. most celebs would tell you to go away or that they're busy, thats cool that he made time to talk w/ you!

How about that! I always thought they were small meatballs.

They're usually called 'Rocky Mountain Oysters'. Testies!!

They kinda looked like meatballs. And they did look delicious until the waitress revealed what they actually were. Eww!

i don't know if lamb fries look like that when served. i do know the "rocky mountain oysters" (could be called "calf fries", since they don't come from lamb) don't resemble their live status.

So using a whole bologna and a melon baller would do it? Scoop 'em out, mix them in gravy or BBQ sauce, fry 'em up and serve 'em up to your friends. I have to admit, they DO look tasty when Mr. Farmer is chomping them down!

I take it you mean the bologna version?

If you mean the McCoy, well -- just about anything gets tasty with hot sauce. Oysters, for example. Regardless, I won't be scanning the menu for Lamb Fries anytime soon.

I'm sure they are nothing like Buffalo wings!

HA! That would make an interesting Halloween or April Fool's prank!

If you find lamb fries appetizing then you should try a Rocky Mountain Oyster.
