Marketing Today
Some have posted comments indicating surprise at the lack of discussion on this board for such a wonderful, break-through film...I think all these gems of the 80's aren't as well remembered as they didn't have the marketing machinery they do today.
For instance, that catchy soundtrack 'The Fruit Nachine' - I remember deperately wanting to purchase it back then but couldn't find it. And, I live in a fairly large urban city in Canada. Nowadays, with all the marketing and advertising campaigns, even smaller indie movies are given much more acclaim and recognition.
But we, of that generation, saw these films and must remember them for the gay youth of today. Classics such as:
Maurice
Prick Up Your Ears
My Beautiful Laundrette
Parting Glances
Torch Song Trilogy
Too Outrageous
And more...
