Why?

does the Disney channel refuse to show these movies on their channel anymore?I know alot of young people who would enjoy this.Im not cutting down the shows currently on the channel but it would be nice if they started showing movies like this again along with makeing new ones.

Thank you. I miss the old disney channel, the one they had when I was a kid. I remember watching this movie when I was like 7 and I fell in love with it.
They need to start showing these movies again!

Suspect: Screw you.

Olivia Benson: I can screw you harder.

Today its the disney channell only in name. I remember back during the 1980's and through most of the 1990's disney was still a great channell to watch. Now its just a commercialized cable tv station promoting beauty products and lazy ways to get built. Pathetic really.

reply

I agree. I remember tons of movies like this that I loved as a kid and they are definatly better then some of the stuff Disney is showing now. They need to bring back movies like this and Chips, The War dog. I'd rather my 9 year old watch stuff like Avonlea then Raven. Plus anyone remember when the only commercials on the Disney Channel were played between shows not during them? I miss the old Disney Channel.

reply

Hear, hear. Right on. Avonlea Rocks! Yes, I am old enough to remember when Disney had commercial-free shows. Hell, we were one of the first families to subscribe to Disney Channel when first uh, debuted. I don't know the word I'd use but yeah, I miss the old Disney. Raven sucks compared to shows like Avonlea. Not to mention Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana, although admittedly that show is so goofy, it makes me giggle but I would gladly trade that for all of the shows I watched on Disney.

I'm a child of the 90s and I remember the way it was... Avonlea, real sitcoms like Growing Pains and the Torkolsons, Bug Juice, Flash Forward, and Vault Diseny which I used to sneak downstairs to watch in the wee hours of the morning. What has happened to those days? A kid today can't watch TV without having to be exposed to ridiculous "pie-in-the-face" shows, as I like to call them, like Hannah Montanna, Zach and Cody, and That's So Raven. I petition to bring back the good old shows and movies and restore the good name of Disney.

Idiots are fun. No wonder every village wants one.

Plus this didnt have a disney ending I kind of like that..

Wasn't she a on the bad train?

never got that

reply

As I remember, the girl and her parents escaped by pretending to convert to Catholicism, then leaving the country.

reply

No, they escaped. But, the sad aspect of the ending was that she and her friend lost contact with each other and never saw each other again.

Sooner or later someone on IMDB will give you the urge to drop kick a puppy.
