This was the weakest...

Bad acting
Terrible story
Plot just absurd..
Why do they always drown him? Why not cremate him.
Was the girls dad just left in the lake after he fell in?

reply

Bad acting could be said about every film in the series but that's why I like the films so much.
The terrible story is what makes the films so entertaining.
An absurd plot is better than no plot at all.
Drowning is easier than cremating.
Tina's dad was buried. In the lake.

I'd rather watch this over "Jason Goes to Hell" any day. That was just an effing mess.

Same here. I hate P7, and P8 even more, but can still watch them. Jason Goes to Hell - I want to say I've only seen it all the way through once.

Oh come on, Jason goes to hell wasn't that bad. SIT DOWN ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ๐Ÿ’บ

Nah, Jason/Hell was good. It tried something different, and people hated it for that, just shows you most people just want the same thing over and over again. That's why movies generally suck most of the time these days.

This movie has the best acting in the series. Terrible story? That's debatable, I found it fresh compared to the stalk and slash of the others. This one actually has a plot so I commend it. They drown him for symbolic reasons. He did drown as a boy. The girl's dad wasn't left for dead in the lake, that would be lazy detective work I'm sure the cops fished his body out, we don't see him down there when Jason is resurrected. I think the cops knew Jason was at the bottom of the lake and left well enough alone. This is a horror movie it's best not to over-think it.

I respectfully disagree. P2 gets my vote for best acting and that's largely due to Amy Steel.

Um, the fact that Tina manages to resurrect his body from the lake at the end is proof he WAS in fact left there and never fished out. How could you possibly think this????

It could have been another one of Tina's visions, which would explain why her father looked so fresh after being dead for 10 years. In other words, maybe she forced Jason down under the water by herself using her telekinetic powers, and her father wasn't really there. I know that probably wasn't the director's intent, but parts 1, 2, and 3 ended with the final girl [supposedly] having a dream/vision, and Tommy Jarvis has multiple dreams/visions in part 5, so Tina having a vision of her father at the end of part 7 would be par for the course for this series, especially since she had various visions throughout the movie anyway.

I think that might be the most idiotic defense of a movie I've ever read. Man, are you dumb.

Nah, this movie is underrated and undeserving of all the hate it gets. Jason X is the weakest of the series.

This has some of the best characters in the series.

By Grabthar's Hammer...what a savings.

reply

It was nowhere near the best but also nowhere near the worst. For me, the worst has to be Jason X.

reply

Of the first 8 Paramount films? I'd have to say I agree. ๎†

I used to say Part 5 was the weakest, but honestly 7 is just such an inexcusable mess of a movie. Even overlooking the production fiascos it's just kind of poorly conceived in so many ways. Like throwing a girl out the window to her death? Sh!tty. Then to see her original death? Cut in the stomach by a machete? Also sh!tty. Has nothing to do with Barbara SACKS cutting stuff out. Buechler just isn't that great.

5's kind of no better though. For having such a high body count, I don't quite recall any death scenes other than Violet's. Very tame film that people tend to overrate these days. It's not grisly or Grindhouse-y. It's kind of boring tbh, when stacked up against the other 7.

And yeah the stuff with Tina's dead dad is...lame. I don't care if he looked scary or not. And the fisherman at the end? ๎€ฆ Oh my.

reply

I enjoyed this one but the first four are the best.

reply

I agree but of the second 4 I think I like this one the best (although it's close between part 6 and this).

reply

Yes wasnt keen on Jason goes to hell or Manhattan one.

reply

I didn't even include Jason goes to hell in my above comment because I hated it so much that it seems so far below everything else in the franchise (even part 5)....felt nothing like a Friday movie (strapping the Sheriff down naked and shaving his mustache???)

reply

I know,i didn't like the idea of him transferring from person to person. I didn't like leading actress or actor either.

reply

No chance this is the weakest.

It's better than 8, 9 and X at least.
