We all want an unrated cut of this movie. The footage only exists in an old VHS print, so what if Buechler made a gofundme page to raise funds to re-shoot the inserts? He can do the effects himself and could easily insert tight Close-up shots of the gore. Maybe he could even get Kane Hodder back to perform a few new shots in costume. Don't use any CGI at all and pretend its 1988 when doing these effects.
Think this could work?
The new release of Sleepaway Camp 3 had the workprint version on the disc as a bonus feature, I would love it if ALL of the sequels had something similar! I think this would be our best bet but even that seems unlikely, but still possible. I think it could happen if a reputable distributor picks this up, or any of the sequels.

shareIt would cost a shitload of money, and Paramount would have to cooperate (shooting the new footage doesn't do anyone any good if Paramount isn't up for releasing a new "director's cut"). 35mm movie film is very expensive to buy and process, 35mm movie cameras and lenses are expensive to rent, you'd need to hire a cameraman, a lighting director (as well as pay for the lighting equipment), a sound editor, Kane Hodder, special effects, costume, and makeup people, the costs associated with shooting on location, and so on. You're looking at several hundred thousand dollars just for a minute or less of footage (assuming you're going to do it right). It would be awesome but it will never happen.
