Even though Melissa is a side character and obvious Jason knife (axe) fodder I think she just steals the show and whenever I watch this I can't wait for her to show up again.

The best "bitch" character in a horror movie hands down. So arrogant, so conceited and mean. The immaculate prissy ultra blond hair, the pearls "from Daddy for being the best daughter" lol and the way she saunters with gusto into every scene she is in is funny but she really is a breath of fresh air amongst a lot of the cardboard stock characters, shes elevated from side bodycount fodder to a main character behind the 2 leads, Dr Crews and Tinas mother IMO. Susan Jennifer Sullivan played Melissa perfectly! She's the ultimate preppy bad girl.

I also am really happy that the bitchy character survived till the last kill (I think it was anyway..) as usually the mean girl gets offed early or midway (see Tamara from Part 8). Actually I like Jason Takes Manhattan but the reason I don't love it as much as this one is Tamara doesn't live long enough. At least Melissa gets to unleash her acid tongue till the last reel with that classic line *beep* you both!"

Sorry for the novel length post, just watched this earlier and realized what a scene/movie stealer Melissa is! Deserves appreciation.

Susan Jennifer Sullivan is not dead. A woman with the same name passed about the time she was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. The reports got them confused and reported she had passed from the cancer. It was only recently that some online movie databases finally cleared up the error.

She was definitely the best character. I hope I live to see the day when the Ultimate Blonde Ice Queen Qunt is the final girl.

A very memorable character.

I've always oddly liked her even though she's a major bitch in this...it's probably because she's attractive.
